Okay, in Evanston.
Northwestern University has a program called Connosisseurship of Fine and Decorative Arts in thier continueing studies department. The classes are offered in partnership with the American Society of Appraisers.
They offer five courses in personal property valuation, and students may add any two connoisseurship classes to earn the Certificate of Completion in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Art.
Of course, to appraise jewelry, you’ll also need training from the Gemological Institue of America.
There are few art history type classes that cover the so called decorative arts, so I was pleased to see these.
